High Performance Technologies for Maths and Engineering
Stephanie Rozek,
Marketing Engineer, Maplesoft
For over twenty-five years, mathematicians, scientists, and engineers have been benefitting from the power of Maple in their daily work. With the release of Maple 13 this past spring, they are finding even more to get excited about.
Maple is, of course, technical computing software containing a highly advanced symbolic computation engine, powerful numeric solvers, and an intuitive technical document interface. This major upgrade of the popular maths and engineering software provides a variety of new tools that support not only academia - as applied to research and classroom use, but also industry, in particular making it even easier to develop robust, reusable solutions for challenging engineering problems.
In this release, Maple’s 3-D plotting facilities have been completely re-written, so your plots will look better, render faster, and convey more information than ever before. Extensive annotation tools and the ability to create fly-through animations make your 3-D plots more meaningful and easier to interpret.
Maple 13 applies revolutionary techniques for finding solutions to differential equations that are beyond the scope of standard methods, greatly extends the event-handling abilities for numeric solutions, and enhances the abilities and performance of the world-class DAE solvers. Other mathematical algorithm enhancements include improvements to numeric integration, integration of special functions, solving inequalities, and finding solutions over the real domain.
This release also contains major expansions to the Maple Portal, including new tutorials and more specialised content for professionals and academics alike. Apart from helping maths students perform hundreds of common tasks, the new portal also includes extensive sections designed for industry professionals, engineering students, and maths educators. Along with the Maple Portal for Engineers, Maple 13 offers a convenient starting point for engineering calculations with point-and-click access to powerful control systems analysis tools, and expanded CAD connectivity that adds NX to the list of supported CAD systems.
In short, Maple 13 offers you an unparalleled environment in which to work with mathematics. Download our Engineering Suite brochure to find out more or email our product specialists for more
